Cannabis Use and Schizophrenia

There is quite a bit of evidence showing that smoking cannabis can contribute to Schizophrenia [ref, ref].  People who smoke cannabis are twice as likely as non-users to develop Schizophrenia, and this risk is larger the more cannabis a person uses.  This risk becomes much larger in individuals who have already experienced some psychotic symptoms in their past.
