Regular Alcohol Use

Alcohol has been used by people in most cultures of the world and throughout the past several thousand years, and when used in moderation it can be a integral feature of social interactions and also a healthy part of one's diet.

By decreasing people's normal inhibitions and calming their anxiety, alcohol can ease social interactions by allowing individuals to feel more comfortable with one another and more open to exchanges. When used regularly in moderation, alcohol also seems to improve people's health as evidenced by longer life spans [ref], though some studies cast doubt on these findings [ref].

Moderate drinking means consuming less then three drinks a day (one drink is defined as 12 oz of regular beer, 5 oz of wine or 1.5 oz of 80 proof alcohol).
